Hired right out of school as a entry-level admin, Ken Fonzi quickly distinguished himself as someone intent on making important contributions to the department. His capacity for learning was extraordinary and he quickly mastered production responsibilities for a busy in-house agency, earning two promotions in the process. As our production manager, he oversaw countless projects simultaneously, working with award-winning designers and editors, freelancers, dozens of outside vendors, and many department managers who were his customers.  He consistently managed those projects and relationships with aplomb and professionalism—which is another of Ken’s great strengths: he really knows how to be a valuable member of a team-based approach.

I had the pleasure of working with Ken on several projects related to The Other Place.  He was very knowledgeable and capable.  I turned over leadership of establishing our visual identity to Ken. He ran a focus group, secured a designer, and within a week, we had a visual identity we were proud of.  Ken also took leadership of our web presence project.  He was very communicative, and created a map of how the site would navigate which I found very useful.  He emphasized flexibility and scalability, so that the site had the ability to grow along with The Other Place cafe and resource centre.  The outcomes exceeded my expectations, and was an enjoyable experience. I was also a first-hand witness to the many successful community initiatives he put in place.  I would hire Ken again for any marketing, communication, or event planning projects that come up.
